There are 14 gangs in GTA 5, with 10 major and 4 minor ones.
The presence of certain gangs will influence the game’s storyline and your protagonist’s experience. Conversely, others are included to enhance the diversity of the GTA world.
Many gang members tend to be aggressive and might pose a threat to your character, even from a distance. Therefore, we recommend approaching them unarmed and maintaining a safe distance.
A few of the gangs listed have multiple hideouts or members spawning in various locations. In such situations, we will only mention their primary headquarters.

1. Ballas
Ballas is one of the largest gangs in GTA 5 and takes control of the whole area of Davis. They can be seen on Grove Street, Covenant Avenue, Brouge Avenue, and Davis Avenue.
2. Los Santos Vagos
Los Santos Vagos, or The Vagos, is a large Mexican street that has its territory in Rancho Projects, a large building with 9 smaller buildings and 4 parking areas nearby.
Besides, its members wear yellow outfits and are often seen on Jamestown Street.
3. Varrios Los Aztecas
The Varrios Los Aztecas, also known as VLA or simply Aztecas, is another Mexican gang with gangsters often wandering around their territory east of Central Los Santos Hospital.
4. Marabunta Grande
Marabunta Grande is a Salvadoran gang whose territory is in El Burro Heights. Besides, you can also spot some gangsters from this gang on Vespucci Beach, who hide their faces behind the bandannas.
5. The Families
An African American Street gang, The Families, has its members south of Los Santos. Their headquarters is in Chamberlain Hills.
6. Madrazo Cartel
Operated by Martin Madrazo, some members of the Madrazo Cartel can be seen in La Fuente Blanca.
7. Armenian Mob
There’s not too much information about the Armenian Mob in GTA 5, but its members are seen at Rogers Salvage and Scrap in La Puerta, where they operate.
8. Kkangpae
The Korean Mob, known as the Kkangpae, is a small but very dangerous gang from South Korea operating in Los Santos. They’re into all sorts of bad stuff and can be found on Ginger Street in Little Seoul.
9. Los Santos Triads
The Los Santos Triads, also called the Wei Cheng Triad, are a big Chinese criminal group in GTA 5. One of its hideouts is the Raven Slaughterhouse, located in Cypress Flats.

11. Hippies
The Hippies members are pretty easy to spot, usually wearing sleeveless shirts or no shirt, tattoos on their chest and back, and necklaces.
You can come across them in a trailer park north of RON Alternates Wind Farm and at Beam Me Up, an art display on the hill near Sandy Shores.
12. Rednecks
Members of the Radnecks look more like ordinary civilians than gangsters. You can spot some of its members by visiting the Paleto Forest Sawmill.
13. O’Neil Brothers
The territory of the O’Neil Brothers is The O’Neil Ranch in Grapeseed.
14. Altruist Cult
The Altruist Cult is a sinister group of older men. Their main base is the Altruist Camp, or nudist colony, located in the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness.
