In the midst of yet another delay for GTA 6, Rockstar Games has decided to make GTA Online free to play on Xbox and PlayStation until November 17, 2025.
This is something Rockstar should do following the GTA 6 delay, as many fans were upset with the decision to delay the game. However, it backfired because it enraged fans even more.
GTA Online Free To Play
According to a post on X by Rockstar Games, GTA Online will be free to play regardless of whether you have PS Plus or Game Pass Essential on your console.

After Rockstar announced this on X, a lot of angry fans left comments, and one fan even said, “We deserve something after the delay. Is this how you’re going to make up for it?“
The post now has approximately 1.4k comments, the majority of which are negative comments about Rockstar Games’ promotional campaign.
What Happens To My GTA ONline After November 17, 2025?
As stated in the post, free access to GTA Online is only available until November 17, 2025. Following that, you will need to subscribe to your console’s online service. For PlayStation, you need PS Plus; for Xbox, you need Game Pass Essential.

Don’t worry, your progress will be saved in the cloud, so whether or not you buy an online service from your console, it will stay there and continue until you do.
Is This Related To GTA Online: Mansion DLC?
It could be related to the upcoming rumored “GTA Online’s Mansion DLC,” as Rockstar Games may want to show “new players” how GTA Online looks.

This could also increase Rockstar Games’ revenue after the free trial of GTA Online expires and “new players” enjoy the gameplay and are intrigued by the new mansions to be released with the new DLC.

I don’t like it and I can’t afford to buy a game pass and I don’t have that much money to buy a game pass. On my Xbox 😢
Well, at least you get to play it for free until November 17, right? 🙂
