Internal MELTDOWN at Rockstar—Could This Push GTA 6 Even Further Back?

There is a lot of trouble going on inside Rockstar Games, and fans are getting worried. More than 200 employees are said to have signed a petition, and tensions are growing inside the studio.

The news makes worries about the future of GTA 6 stronger than ever. As things get more tense behind the scenes, the big question now is simple: could this internal meltdown make the release of GTA 6 even further away? Let’s talk about that.

Could GTA 6 Be Pushed Even Further Than November 2026?

This is all GTA 6 fans are asking right now, especially since GTA 6 got delayed again to November 19, 2026. They worry that internal conflict can slow down production, break up teams, and push back important deadlines.

Actually, Rockstar has faced lawsuits before, so this is not new. However, If nothing changes with the present protests, the highly anticipated game may not be released in November 2026, forcing fans to wait even longer.

Rockstar Games: Notable Lawsuits Over the Years

Here’s a rundown of some of the major legal battles Rockstar Games has faced:

  • Leslie Benzies vs. Rockstar / Take-Two
Former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies sued Rockstar and Take-Two for US$150 million, claiming unpaid royalties, deceptive practices, and that he was forced out during a sabbatical.
  • “Hot Coffee” Class-Action (GTA: San Andreas)
Rockstar faced a class-action lawsuit over a hidden sex minigame in GTA: San Andreas. Plaintiffs accused the company of false advertising and unfair business practices.
    • The City of Los Angeles also sued Rockstar and Take-Two, arguing that the company hid pornographic content in its marketing.
    • The case settled in 2008, with Rockstar agreeing to pay affected players and revise the game.
  • Overtime Lawsuit (Rockstar San Diego)
In 2006, more than 100 former Rockstar San Diego employees filed a class-action lawsuit alleging unpaid overtime. Rockstar settled for US$2.75 million in 2009.
  • Lawsuits Over Likeness in GTA V
    • Karen Gravano (from Mob Wives) sued Rockstar, claiming a character in GTA V was based on her without her permission.
    • Lindsay Lohan also filed a lawsuit over a character she alleged was modeled after her image and persona.
    • Both suits were dismissed.
  • Copyright Infringement (Composer)
Composer Shawn Lee, who worked on Bully and other titles, sued Rockstar for allegedly using his music without proper approval.
  • Modding / Reverse Engineering Lawsuit
Take-Two (Rockstar’s parent company) filed a civil action against modders who reverse-engineered older GTA titles (e.g., GTA III, Vice City).
  • Wrongful-Death / Copycat Violence Suits
In 2006, Rockstar (with Take-Two) was sued over claims that GTA inspired a real-life shooting. The plaintiffs sought over US$600 million, but the case was eventually challenged.

Our Conclusion

Rockstar Games has been in trouble before, but the current problems within the company may be the most serious it has faced in years.

The studio is under a lot of pressure from both inside and outside because of protests, petitions, and a long list of past legal fights.

As more and more problems with development arise, it becomes harder to ignore the fact that GTA 6 may be delayed even more. Fans all over the world are watching closely, hoping that Rockstar can get things back on track and release the next chapter of the GTA series that everyone has been waiting for.
