The excitement surrounding GTA 6 reached another level recently after rumors suggested the game could offer both Quality and Performance modes on consoles.
While that sparked hopes of a 60 FPS option for PS5 and Xbox Series X players, not everyone is convinced.
Several industry analysts believe Rockstar’s next blockbuster may be too technically ambitious for current console hardware to maintain such a high frame rate.
Why Experts Are Skeptical About GTA 6 In 60 FPS
Despite the excitement, several technical analysts and industry experts remain doubtful that GTA 6 will achieve a stable 60 FPS on current-generation consoles.

Experts from Digital Foundry, believe that Rockstar’s upcoming blockbuster may simply be too demanding for current-generation consoles to run at a stable 60 frames per second.
What About the PS5 Pro?
Some fans have suggested that the PS5 Pro could finally make 60 FPS possible. However, experts remain skeptical.
While the PS5 Pro has improved graphics performance, its CPU improvements are relatively modest, meaning it could still struggle with the heavy simulation workload that GTA 6 is expected to deliver.
But here’s the thing, Rockstar is very well known for delivering games that are very well optimized, like their game GTA 5. So, we still might have a little hope!
So, Should Fans Expect 60 FPS?
At this point, many experts believe that a locked 30 FPS experience is still the most likely outcome for consoles.

That doesn’t necessarily mean GTA 6 will be disappointing; far from it. If Rockstar delivers the massive, detailed, and living world that fans are expecting, many players may be willing to trade higher frame rates for an unforgettable experience.
